Irving M. Locker (b. 1924) was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army's 116th Anti-Aircraft Artillery (AAA) Gun Battalion during World War II. Drafted in 1943, he participated in Operation Tiger, a D-Day training exercise, and landed on Utah Beach in the second wave of the D-Day invasion. He fought in five major battles, including the Battle of the Bulge, and helped liberate the Gardelegen concentration camp. Due to his Yiddish language skills, he often gathered intelligence and supplies. He commanded 65 men as a 19-year-old Staff Sergeant. Locker retired to Florida and has been married to his wife, Bernice, for 76 years.
